New To Raiding, Here’s Your Checklist

So you ding’d 80 and now thinking ahead. You’re thinking Ulduar or ToC and maybe shopping around Lootables for epic items. You think you’re ready for progression!

Everyone’s level of motivation when it comes to end-game raids all differ to each other. What separates your average casual raider and an end-game raider is your perseverance to hold yourself– and your team– to higher standards. You are not required to prepare like an elite athlete but to abide by key standards. Quality raiding is, in my opinion, a matter of choice for individual raiders. Your guild can provide essential resources for raids to run smoothly—website, raiding schedules, solid leadership—but it’s your individual approach that will determine whether your performance is convincing or not.

During a raid situation, listening is central regardless of your guild’s motivation. Be it progression or endgame. Guides (Tankspot, elitist jerks, etc) are in placed to give us foresight on what to expect in a raid situation. But the key to running endgame raiding is for each individual to know what to do in every raid situation, and be able to perform their job effectively without needing explicit instructions.

The checklist below is from another website. It’ll help you understand what you need when it comes to basic class mechanics and end-game raiding. Read this and make it your checklist for level of competency in raids.
