Activision’s GoldenEye To Target Wii Market

Activision secured the James Bond video game license for a staggering $70 mil price tag in 2006.

Activision has been explaining their reasoning behind bringing GoldenEye 007 back exclusively for the Wii. Activision’s Brian Pass told Videogamer that they had two very good reasons for the Wii exclusivity deal – one being that they saw a gap in the market on the Wii that GoldenEye would fill and two being that they really wanted to build a partneership with Nintendo. The nostalgia factor also played a part in their decision.

Pass said: “There are a number of different reasons for that. One’s we have a partnership with Nintendo. It’s a great opportunity. This game was originally on the N64, so there’s the nostalgia factor for people that are Nintendo fans. So we wanted to partner with Nintendo for this.”
